Where do I start?

Yes! WE do!!!
Yes! WE do!!!

My website isn't finished yet. I'll admit, I'm having a somewhat challenging time getting it up and running. I used to create websites for other people, but it's been awhile and there have been major changes in the whole process. It's just a learning curve. I'll persevere and conquer and soon have my offerings to share online. In the meantime, I just couldn't wait to get started meeting YOU! & sharing my thoughts and dreams and encouragement for anyone attempting to return to what is now called an alternate lifestyle, but, in truth, is really just taking things back to the beginning before life became overly complicated and our good health depended on the air we breathe, the water we drink and the earth's provision for sustenance.

In the beginning... with a few additions
In the beginning... with a few additions

I recently moved back to Texas after living in North Carolina for a year. When I moved into my current home, the yard had little more than grass, weeds and bugs. I would sit outside and dream about how to transform the area into something beautiful...something exciting that would feed my need for color and texture and beauty and feed nature's critters who are trying so desperately to survive and live their life paths. You know, the birds and bees and butterflies and moths and frogs and lizards and snakes and dragonflies and on and on an on. There is so much life right at our doorsteps, but few people even stop to consider its presence or necessity as they manicure their lawns and spray their chemicals and pull their weeds. Not only are they destroying the eco-system, they are also compromising their own health and well-being.

My heart is to encourage others to return to a more natural form of gardening/landscaping and taking responsibility for our personal health while offering insights, laughs, and helpful information about the land we are so closely tied to whether we realize and acknowledge it or not. Over the past 6 years, I have transitioned from conventional gardening and growing methods to no-dig and raised bed gardening and landscaping. I like to do things as naturally as possible, mixing flowers and trees and veggies throughout. I have found that this method does not deplete the soil, but actually adds nutrients back. By using herbs and vegetables in place of most ornamentals, I'm still creating beauty with flowers and plantings that most people miss, while feeding my family and making my herbal creations that help others who are looking for alternative methods of health support.

I hope you will join me on this journey. I also hope that you will let me hear from you as we travel this path. There is always more to learn from each other in this continuing experiment of life. Let's live it to the fullest!!! Love Jen
